idle boost valve? help what is this. CIS to Megasquirt 16v q

looking off this wiring guide for megasquirt.

is that for mk2 cars? is it needed?


i have a 16v 2l. its a 9a block.

That relay just drives a fast idle valve -- don't know why they use the word boost... It performs the same function as a choke in carb'd motors --
Raise the idle until the engine warms up. ...

Do you need it??? Well I went with a stepper controlled idle valve to get a little more fine control -- with FIDLE you either have extra air (rpm) or not. with a stepper it slowly ramps down as the motor warms up.
