Tuning Before and After Warmup?

just got the car to start and idle. i also just installed the lc-1 with a external gauge. setup the lc-1 in megasquirt and so far, it matches pretty well with megatune.

basically what next?

1) tuning. do i do it after or before car has warmed up? i read the diyautotunes instructions here:
http://www.DIYAutoTune.com/tech_article ... rt_ems.htm
You haven't driven the car at this point!!!

Disable EGO correction by setting the authority to 0 and/or step size to 0.
Disable Accel Enrichment by setting TPSDot Threshold to something high like 40 if you're using TPSDot, or MAPDot threshold to something like 300 if you're using MAPDot.

Next using a wideband o2 system tune the idle for best vacuum (lowest kPa) and/or for about 13.2-14.0:1 AFR. You want the highest amount of vacuum while being no richer than about 13.2:1 at idle.

Then tune the 'no-load' area just a bit. It's generally good to aim for 13.5-14.0:1 here. That would be tranny in neutral and slowly free revving the engine (not very high). You won't be able to hold it in a particular cell very well so don't spend alot of time on this, but you can make sure it's not going too lean/rich and is 'in the ballpark'.
also do i tune by changing numbers directly to the ve table? what is the "no load area?"

2) after car has warmed up. is the easiest thing to do is take a 15 minute drive and stat tuning with megalog viewer and ve analyzer?

i'm using a megasquirt 2, 3.57 smd. firmware 2.68.

Tune it after it's warmed up - you can then come back and set the warmup settings.

No-load areas are ones you can hit revving the engine in neutral.

VE analyzer can make the tuning a bit easier, although not quite as easy as having a dyno. :)
