Looking for MAF Sensor

I want to give MAF a whirl, but I am unable to find any dimensions on the Internet. My requirement is for a 3.5L engine with a 6500 rpm red line. The MAF sensor would replace an AFM (air flow meter) with an input and output tube diameter of 80 mm. On ebay I see 80 mm Ford Mustang MAF meters, but I have no idea what dimensions the 80 mm refers to. On a unit like the FORD Mustang, I assume on the input side one buy an adapter to provide the 80 mm dimension.

I guess my questions boil down to (a) what is the input and output diameter of the Ford 80 mm MAF meters, (b) would the Ford unit used on a 5.0 L Mustang be suitable for my engine, and (c) more generally what would be the best MAF meter for my application?

All comments or suggestion as welcome.

80mm refers to the inside diameter.
80mm = 3 1/8 inch.

I'd look for a MAF that has an OEM application similar to the engine you are using...I.E. a 3.5 or 4.0....maybe off a Ford explorer...an 80mm unit off a Mustang will most likely not give you much range unless you are turning over 6500RPM...

Of course you can use an 80mm or one off a 5.0, but you may not get as much range...in other words, instead of seeing 0-5v output = 0-6500rpm, you may only see 0-2v which at the low end could be suceptible to noise and error at the lower rpm ranges, your ADC counts will be less accurate as well..
