4AGZE wants to start but gurgles out

Post by dr.occa »

MS II v3.0 Running 2.89

-the injectors are 7mgte injectors (resistor type)
-distributor is the NA 4age with a 4 tooth trigger wheel (VAST type)

i've been battling with this setup for a while. i installed the missing injector drivers. the car now tries to turn over and if i modulate the gas pedal it tries to idle but very poorly and very rough.

-no wide or narrow band is installed.
-no IAC solenoid
-the super charger is on an on/off switch

manually setup the fuel and ignition tables using JamesL's maps.

here are captures of the configuration. i'd be indebted to anyone who could help me with some configuration insight and problem spots based on the information i've provided.

Just a few quick things. Firstly, posting your MSQ file will provide all that info without the mega long post. Check your Required fuel calc, and you're using a separate VE and AFR table, but have no o2 sensor attached, so no feedback to use the second table.

yeah, i figured the .msq file has ALL the necessary info but i also took the initiative to post up the shots for redundancy purposes knowing human weakness. since i only received 1 response, i take it the silence speaks volumes: "search" or "read the megamanual doofus" etc...etc...

neither were much help in narrowing down where the problem lies.

i'll have to see if the failure is possibly at the map sensor and pin 1 as it seems to crop up now and again.

wow, 15 days and only 1 response that turned out to be somewhat of a reprimand from a fellow msefi.com megasquirt newbie with a whopping 24 more posts than me.

the frustration of it all when i can convert an efi 4age gts to side draughts and running on a programmable waste spark ignition with megajolt lite jr, re-jetted and putting the car through its paces in a few days. in fact, i actually did just that this past monday: 4agze with megasquirt-not running and going on 30+ days. 4age efi converted to dual solex carbs w/ megajolt-started and finished in just 26hrs.

yeah, i know i'm bitching, whining and all around just complaining but it's disappointing as well; the lack of even a real helpful finger in the right direction from a community of purportedly knowledgeable enthusiasts. maybe it's just the whole clique syndrome and/or hording of knowledge and the usual "i'm a genius, i can't be bothered with such trifles. where are my fellow auto performance intellectuals that i might sharpen myself with co-hearts...". which ever. with all the numerous, and repetitive questions i've answered repeatedly it's a shame to be left with the impression that MAYBE i'm one of a very few. wow, now i'm given over to presumptuousness. awesome.

the utter frustration of it all...looks like my buddy and i are on our own. thanks anyway msefi.com. we'll go learn us ourselves all about efi without help from anyone like ya'll did so we can be heavy weights too we reckon.
