I've bought a complete 8 cylinder EDIS setup off Ebay and each unit has been cut from the harness. I could, of course, just splice into these tails but would rather use new terminals with the existing connectors. But am unsure how to remove the terminals from the connectors without breaking anything. I assume the coloured part on the connector removes - but how? And is a special tool needed to disengage the terminal? A supplier of the terminals would also be useful.
Any advice welcome. ;-)

The FORD EDIS connectors ( module , coil pack and VR) are of real god quality and easy to rewire .
1 Take the connector and look into the plug in side . Take a sharp object( like a scriber) and gently pry out the red ( or yellow) wedge
2 Turn the connector around . lift off the plastic clamp and pry out the silicone rubber wire sealer.
3 Insert a small screwdriver from the pin side , gently pry on the plastic hook and pull out the wire/contact.

Then
1 Pry open the wire clamp with a sharp side cutter. Straighten out the tongs.
2 Mount the part in a small clamp and slit thru the clamped part with DREMEL and a cutting disk
3 Insert a small screwdriver into the slit and bend a little bit. The wire strands will now fall out, you may have to help a bit with a scribing tool

Solder in new wires , assemble in reverse order. With a bit of training the harness will look and work like new. If new connector metal pins could be found , and the appropriate crimping dies that would be better, but method above works great. Have done > 10 EDIS installs like this.
Might even take a couple of pics next time

Thanks for this Helbert, worked just fine. I would prefer to use new terminals through - someone must sell them? They are similar to some Bosch ones I have - but not identical.
