would that be possible?

Post by mathblais »

I was wondering if it would be possible to use newer boards MSI or MSII v3.0 to control only sparks & nitrous. I know I would be able to use http://home.comcast.net/~tjhafner/MegaSpark.html with some old v1.0 or 2.2 PCB I have still laying around at home. Been a while since I played with MS systems so really have no clue how it evolved.

Goal is to control a timing & nitrous stages on a carbed V8.

Thanks for your help

I don't see why not. The megasquirt wont care if nothing is connected to the injector outputs.

The MS1 with the standard software can't do ignition or NOS; the MS2 can't do NOS (I think). The 'extra' codes for MS1/extra and MS2/extra both handle spark and nitrous and a host of other toys. The V3.0 boards are a little more robust, and have a 'prototype' area for you to add custom bits and components for things like NOS drivers.

I agree with russelmopar - the ECU won't even notice that the injectors aren't connected.

Math,

You don't have to connect the injectors, that won't be a problem. For N2O control with MS-II with 2.8+ code, see: http://www.megamanual.com/mt28.htm#so
