palm tune with USB adapter

Ok I'm trying to get my Hp iPAQ the ability to tune ms for me. I have been able to get the palm tune program to run on my iPAQ with a palm emulator but I'm a little unsure if the next step is possible. I'm trying to adapt a usb-serial cable to work with the system the only problem I'm seeing is the both terminate at a male plug. if i make a double female and match the pins properly this should be a usable cable setup right or is palmtune not going to like the port setup of windows>

I would like to use my IPAQ h5550 to log and tune my microsquirt.
