USB serial adapter problem

Post by madman4 »

Hi all,

A friend of mine who do hill climbing race have a problem with an usb/serial adapter

This week end is it the race and we have'nt got time to repair the connection before he lefts for the race .....
Of course he haven't an internet connection on the race.

Just after a race session, he has problem on WOT, the engine run poor.
He connects his adapter to the MS but MT don't connect ..
Before that everinthing was ok, connection, communications, log, setting the VE table etc ...
The engine ran great.

We think about a MAP problem. Map sensor or on pipes to the map sensor.

He checks all pipes at this time, during I try to solv the communication problem at 700kms ...

So, Windows XP recognize the adapter on the COM15.
Adapter is set like that :

but when he takes a look, he hits the default setting button. After that communication was lost.

Could you tell me what is your setting on the advanced sheet on the serial adapter properties ?

Of course MT connection settings are set on the right speed and right COM.

Thx a lot
Pat

My friend check all the MAP line and everything is ok for this part.
But the problem is always here after 2 sessions for the race.

Please could you post screen shot about the advanced setting properties about your USB/serial adapter.

As you can see under step 26 in:
Assembly Guide - MegaSquirt® V3.0 Main Board:
http://www.megamanual.com/ms2/V3assemble.htm

It should be set to:
Baud Rate
9600 for MegaSquirt
115200 for MegaSquirt-II

Data Bits 8
Stop Bits 1
Flow Control : None

But what you are posting is the configuration for COM1, and not 15. So, this could be it.
Also, that far away COM port could also provide some issues.
Try to set the COM to 6 or something similar and try again.
