Newby question - ignition system replacement

Greetings! I've lurked here from time to time, but now I have a real, urgent project.
I have a large forklift powered by an obsolete 4-cylinder industrial engine. The distributor gears have stripped, and no replacements are available.
Tons of merchandise are stacking up, and I need to get the forklift running again.

This isn't a high-performance engine. I just need something that will provide a simple advance curve and can fire 4 cylinders.
Can I do that with Megasquirt components? If so, what would be the simplest/most economical choice of components?
Thanks.
J

An MS2 and an EDIS system would be an easy way to convert to distributorless - as long as the distributor gear doesn't drive the oil pump, too...
