TFI module necessary with ms2 v3.0 with MSD firing coil?
TFI module necessary with ms2 v3.0 with MSD firing coil?
Does the TFI module do any conditioning to the signal from the distributor? If I were running the coil off the module I know it is needed. But if I'm only using the distributor for its hall effect pickup, do I need the module in there at all?
Reason I ask is I have a 94 mustang motor that didn't come with the remote mounted tfi module or heat sink, but I do have a CD ignition and matching coil I can use.
Thanks!

Here's a diagram of the 94-95 dizzy connector in a TFI setup:

An here's what you'd connect from the TFI when running an aftermarket ignition:

I guess another question would be. If I just connect PIN 4 off the distributor connector (PIP to TFI) to input pin 24 on ms2, will it fry anything?

We'll see if the TFI distributor's (without TFI module) square wave output can be picked up by the MS box!
Output was wired for a standard MSD box (I'm using a Crane HI-6 instead). http://www.msextra.com/doc/ms2extra/MS2 ... on.htm#msd
Not exactly sure how long before I'll have everything swapped into the Volvo to test this setup out, but I'll post back results when I do.
