Is condenser needed?

I am converting from Megasquirt I to Megasquirt II. To control the spark I am removing the 4 pin GM HEI and replacing it with a 7 pin GM HEI, new, probably for a coil in cap distributor. I am planning on using the original style external coil original to this engine. My question is: The original 4 pin module uses a condenser (built into the connector inside the distributor) on the output side to the coil, similar to an old points set up. Is this needed if I am using the 7 pin. I cannot find any info on this. Will damage occur to the 7 pin module if it is used (or not)? My problem is once assembled the distributor will be very inaccessible (I won't even be able to remove the cap without removing the intake manifold) so I need not to damage anything in it. Any thoughts or guidance?

This is for noise suppression. I'd keep it.
