HEI 7 pin spark problem
my setup is a 1985 camaro with a small blower on top. I use stock parts except for the ms offcoarse. The problem is that the car coughs during cranking but doesn't catch enough to start. tried all different pulse widths and maps from others so i dont think thats the problem.
I am sure my distributor is about in the correct position but as i was searching for the problem i tried to check the ignition timing with a timing light during cranking, the light only lit op once during 20 seconds of cranking. and as it lit up there was no timing mark in sight. If i use the light on my ktm motorbike or other cars during cranking it works perfect. sparkplug wires are stock gm.
I am sure the distributor is in the correct position because when i turn the engine to the TDC the distributor points a bit before the contact point of the first cilinder and the rockers of the first cilinder has a bit of play so the valves are closed.
I followed the HEI 7 pin steps in the ms information section.
what can be the problem?

Ok, try unplugging both the injectors and the B pin, and cranking it. See what the timing light does.Edd wrote:To be honest i don't what it will look like with the timing light on it but it didn't start when i had it unplugged
