MS not working.

Post by tigerstripe40 »

Hello
This is my first post on this forum.

I bought a MegaSquirt v2.2 several years ago, wanting to set it up for a fuel injection system for my 1976 Land Cruiser.
The project, unfortunately, fell by the wayside and other things caught my interest.

I am back on the fuel injection project and wanted to fire up the megasquirt to see what I can do with it.

I initially had the megasquirt and stimulator board working an was playing around with settings. I installed one of the LEDs backwards on the stimulator, and wound up burning the stimulator. Since then the only thing that happens when I plug the stimulator board into the MS, is the D18 LED (middle) comes on for a few seconds -I know that this LED is the warm up LED. It then goes off. I get no action from the stimulator board, no LEDs, nothing happens when I twist the pots.

Thinking I had installed the battery polarity backwards, I swapped the leads and the megasquirt started smoking. I hurriedly unplugged the battery, but by then I couldn't find which component burned...

Let me know if I need to provide any additional information besides what is in my signature. I think the board revision is 1205.

The only thing that might be damaged by installing an LED the wrong way round is the LED itself.

I've replaced the LED and put it the right way around.
I'm still not getting anything.

I think I am going to take this all over to my local Make Hackerspace next Wednesday and see if some of those electronics guru's can help.
Just trying to find a place to start.
