Hi guys, I have a ms 2v3.0 in which I would like it to work on my Linux laptop Dell latitude c640 via the serial to usb cable . The cable is a Trendnet TU-S9 cable in which I can get it to work on windows with the unregistered version of Tuner Studio, but not on Linux . The Distro I have is Xbuntu . It is detecting the cable but that's all , no error codes . I contacted Trendnet and the said that cable is not supported by Linux. I wanted to find out if anyone here is running this combo or something similar? All help and advice will be greatly appreciated. Also I'm not a pro at Linux , I been toying around it for about a year . I just want to distance myself from Windows if possible.

Does their cable have an FTDI or Prolific chipset? Or one from somewhere else?
