HELP WITH PROJECT SO FAR DISAPPOINTED/GUTTED

When you think you're doing the right thing. I have been sat on a project for a long time probably too long.
The Project is to mega squirt a Vw type 1 aircooled engine 1776cc, mild cam engle 100. The engine is a low mileage motor that was actually run on megasquirt ms1 prior to me owning it, it was set up with a crank trigger 36-1 toothed wheel running Edis 4,
Had a home made throttle body and the plenums with a airflow sensor, coolant sensor. But I did not get the ECU.
I managed to find a mega squirt ECU that came from a Porsche 914 track car imported to the U.K by a car to race in a historic class but when it came to it he wasn't allowed to race with EFI.
So I bought it, similar engine spec to mine very similar set up, I saw the car run via a video, great.
But I put it off as it's complicated white mans magic, until recently having my hand kinda forced as I lost my lock up, having to make a choice between keeping my old oval beetle and selling my daily work car or selling the oval.
So I thought the 1776 will go in without too much messing. Megasquirt it an it drags it into this century.
Spent 2 weeks sourcing and modifying twin throttle bodies, which now fit perfect, there mounted to CB Performance DRLA Efi manifolds with rails and injectors.
So I got it all out buried in my back bedroom, warm and dry.
I believe it's Ms2 V3 with relay board, loom several sensors, etc. I downloaded tunerstudios, after buying an adapter lead to work with the laptop. Db9 to USB, I connected ECU loom and relay board, then lead to ecu and laptop, connected the power and negative from the relay board and nothing on the ecu. None of the lights powered up, tried quickly turning a connected tips sensor, but nothing. The laptop or tuner studio won't connect, says nothing connected, tried configuring com port, nothing.
So I don't know if any of it works and I'm scuffered, I've spent too much and if I'm honest I can't afford new.
I tried Extraefi uk to see if he could check it or upgrade it, paying for his services but he didn't want to know, which if I'm honest I wasn't too impressed with.
I know it originally came from DIYAutoTune.
Any help or pointers would be great, I m kinda at my wits end
Cheers mark

There are several in the UK who will test/repair your MS for you. I'm one. I don't charge for testing, and will tell you if anything is wrong with it. All that will cost is the return postage. I'm based in South London.

If I find any fault (s) I'll also give a quote for fixing it. Unless you're very unlucky, repairs don't usually cost much. And always much cheaper than a new unit.

As regards your loom, that can also be tested, but is rather more time consuming, as most tend to have far more variations than MS itself. If I were you I'd draw out the schematic of it. To be sure it is actually wired as you think it is.

That's fantastic exactly what i need, can you text me your contact number, really do appreciate it. I can get my Flute meter out an check the loom (guessing that's just a continuity test apart from sussing the pin outs) my number is 07985 413806. I get it packed up and post it this week. A chat would be good so you know what I'm trying to achieve
thanks mark
