You can in all likelihood use the stock sensor. Check the factory service manual for specs to be sure it's an NTC type (resistance increases when temp decreases and vice versa). Then use EasyTherm or the MSII equivalent to generate the required custom thermistor tables. See the megamanual ...

GM CLT in a 9a 16V jetta
just wondering if anyone is using the GM sensor in there 16V?
