Re: SBC with 7-pin HEI hates advance... Pops and bucks

I think the 10 advance with EST bypassed is built into the module. I know for sure it is on the 8-pin version just not 100% on the 7-pin module. It's a fail safe to keep the vehicle drivable if you loose the EST signal. You should not get the additional 10 when the module is under MS control for ...

Re: Using MSII for dyno data collection

I've given some thought to this also-

I have an engine dyno also- The dyno software I'm using has the ability to 'poll' an aftermarket data board.

I wrote a plugin for MSII for my Dyno software to poll MSII during a run.

I just used the INI to get the data layout. The dyno software now has MSII ...

Re: MegaMeet West Coast - Oct 29-30th 2011

Will there be any news on the B&G PWC?? Been afraid to ask but I'm looking for another wide band and would prefer to wait for the PWC if there is any hope of a release in the future.

Thanks,

Joe-

Re: Flyback Failure & Q1 change???

Having played the GMtbi game you are playing right now the best solution I found was just to run the P&H board.
After 2 failures of the original flyback I switched to the new board. been working good for years now.

Take a look and consider it. You will not regret it. And it's reasonably priced ...

Re: vortec distributor??

The vortec dist only has a 1x signal. You could not run with only that and no crank trigger.

Run the 92 5.7. It's been done plenty of times and will be an easy solution

Some of the delphi shorties might be usable when space is an issue.

If no timing is involved for distributor setup is the ignition triggered from a crank wheel??

Mainly wondering if you already have a good crank trigger that ...

Re: Megasquirt for a Ferrari Testarossa

Interesting project. First of all go for it.

From the picture it looks to me like dual 6 cyl bosch CIS (K-jet) fuel distribution manifolds and twin cam driven distributors.
This will require some effort and fabrication (It's going to be well worth it). I just took a quick look at some msIII specs ...

Re: Getting started with Palm

Nothing is reversed on M/S. There are two layouts for serial ports. DTE and DCE.

Basically for two serial devices to chat the transmit pin on the terminal needs to go to the receive pin on the other device and the receive pin on the terminal needs to go to the transmit pin. My serial cable (May or ...

Re: Getting started with Palm

I just finished a project like this one. M105 from Ebay-

I had to change the gender of the serial cable and swap Rx and Tx. Then download the Palm install software free from the palm website. Now that I modified my serial cable to interface with the megasquirt it will no longer plug into my ...

Re: hot Idle issues- Injector delay %

Now that I've had a few days to drive I have to say It improved my overall Idle quality Hot and cold. It was surprising to me.
It now has the OE feel to it that I have always been missing. I am very pleased, I was mainly just chasing the hot issue because my idle quality started to deteriorate. Not ...

hot Idle issues- Injector delay %

MSII 2.886 v2.2 P&H board

I've been battling a minor hot Idle issue for a while. My truck has a 5.7SBC TBI. Overall drivability is good.
Very pleased. The weather has been good here lately and an anoying issue is bugging me lately.

When my Intake air temp raises above 110 degrees I loose Idle ...

Re: Charcoal Canister

I've given this some thought as well and have never come up with a good solution.

I have been thinking the following.

Use an extra channel to control the solinoid (Fidle or warmup LED) for hardware control. Thats the easy part.

I have never been able to find real good data on when the purge ...

Re: Throttle locking at wide open

Initially I was under the impression the issue was the throttle was mechanically sticking for no apparent reason.
(pedal stuck to the floor)

My comment was mainly to make sure the body systems are not grounding through the throttle cable to the block.

I've seen a few conversions where the body ...

Re: Throttle locking at wide open

Long shot #2-

Check your body grounds! Sometimes a bad body ground can do this. Your body systems will ground through the throttle cable.

When the cable gets hot it sticks. Turn on the heater, throttle sticks. Volt drop batt neg to the body with multiple body systems on, heater, lights etc ...
