My dual 58mm on my car flows just under 1000 cfm (we tested it). LT1 motors made more HP from the factory than your goal with the 48 mms. It's going to be easier to use a GM part for parts avaiabilty and compatability with megasquirt. Maybe less fabrication,too, depending your transmission. If ...

Here's what I have learned. I put a 2.5 inch straight through ehxaust system on my '98 civic. It's louder than heck, but the car runs well after adjusting the fuel pressure - tuning like Lance said. There's no way that a 1.6 liter will put out enough air to overload that pipe, but it works ...
