Turbo FSI engine

Post by soerencarlsen »

I just got a Turbo FSI engine from a vw golf 5.
The MS!all new to me so I am trying to find out if it will/may be possible to control the Injectors (sequintial) with the megasquirt softvare/hardvare. For info ! it is direct injection somewhat like commen rail diesel injection.
I appriciate any comments on this
Thank you

Right now there's a handful of users beta testing a sequential version of the Megasquirt. It's not quite ready for production, and the code doesn't really cover some of the more unusual aspects of GDI motors such as the way many of them pulse the injectors several times per ignition event. Converting the motor to port injection might be a possibility if you're looking to run it without the factory ECU.

You also have to control the high pressure injection pump (driven by the cam shaft) and the pwm controlled fuel pump. MS can't control both so you better mod the engine to something simple as port injection....

if there is interested in developing a MS for direct injection... We will have the mentioned Golf FSI motor on our dyno (Technical college of Berlin) for several moths, maybe two years. And we need a fully programmable ECU. Unfortunately I am not a software pro...
