will try to start, but dies
MSII-3.0 v2.890
8pin hei-msdtfi coil
if i get in car it, and try to start, it will fire then die. if i try again it wont fire. If i prime a few times it will fire and die. I can smell gas. Every time i have pulled plugs out they were dry, so i assume i am not flooding the engine. am i doing something wrong. I have been playing with all kinds of settings(making sure to put them back) still cant get any better results. I just checked something as I was typing this. OK i turn key on, i here pump for a couple sec. I have a fuel gauge resting on windshield. fuel pressure doesn't go up or down when cranking for 10 to 15 seconds. just fyi. how do i correct this? i think i have a fuel map for my motor, but it is in .bin file format. is there a way i can use this? just wondering.

Just my 2 cents worth......fuel pressure doesn't go up or down when cranking for 10 to 15 seconds.
I also have a fuel pressure gauge and it definitely bounces to the regulated pressure during prime and then falls back a bit after 2 seconds. The pressure then comes back up to the regulated value during cranking. I would be a bit concerned about the pump itself (or the supply voltage) by your description!

pump is good 45 psi, there is no power there when cranking-should there be, i have never thought to check.kjones6039 wrote:Just my 2 cents worth......fuel pressure doesn't go up or down when cranking for 10 to 15 seconds.

no tach pulses= fuel pump off after it primes and no injector firing. watch your rpm gauge in megatune when cranking it
should indicate a few hundred rpm while cranking.

No poop, i was gonna ask that same thing. The tach on TS isn't working, I dont know how to make it work. I have been reading people using there jimstim, to test it. is that how you set it up for the car.typhoontx wrote:Does it start when you bypass the relay or does it still not start ? It sounds like your not detecting any tach pulses

This illustrates, for the umpteenth time, the value of making a Stim a integral part of any MS project!

Does look confusing - perhaps a stim rather than jimstim would have been easier?corysplace wrote:i have a stim, but i don't quit understand how to use it.
