ms tracking for a ground

Post by jamie1107 »

hi
i have a vaer odd problem with my ms1v3 it seems to be tracking for a ground through my relay board
both the ecu harness and relay board were bought pre built and i have checked them everything seems to be right
but when i connect both wires to the clt sensor the f idle valve activates boosting the rpm
also the ego sweeps up and down al the time which i think is because it is trying to ground through that as well
the only thing that doesnt cause a proble is ath ait but thats in a plastic boss so the body cant ground not by design just how it is on my car
im a bit lost because i cant see why this is happening as there is less than 4 ohms resistance from the relay board and the earth pad by the proto board of the ms to body ground
anyone got any ideas
thanks

4 ohms resistance is huge in a 12v world... your ground resistance should be immeasureable low...

just thought i would update things with my progress i re routed the grounds to the negative battery terminal this did not help i now realise the 4 ohms was coming from the body point i measured from not the earth
i then observed the ecu restart when the warmup cut out engine up to temp this made me think it was in that circuit so i put a diode to prevent ground backflow through the f idle valve in line problem solved
it still needs tuning and the o2 still is a little eratic i may try a diode there to but for now it works
