Triumph Stag EFI

Hi.

I want to fit MS-based EFI to my long-term Triumph Stag project, complete with its original 3-litre OHC V8. The inlet manifold is a dual-plane design, with a mounting flange for an adapter block with two Zenith-Stromberg 175CDS carburettors on it.

Now, I can happily get the mounting flange milled off to fit a different throttle body onto the manifold but my question is :?: how can I arrange the fuel injectors, since the manifold port runners are at two different heights (dual-plane)?

I have had evil thoughts about making up a new manifold to fit two banks of motorcycle throttle bodies onto the V8... Now that would sound incredible! But the dual-plane adaptation should be easier.

Any thoughts? :)

I've seen this done before (port injection on a dual plane) - you could either use injector to hose type fittings, or very long injector bungs.

Ah. I was wondering about both of those solutions. Thank you, Matt! :)

I quite like the idea of using long injector bungs or making my own out of bar stock and then machining them to length on a mill. I guess I could use almost anything that fits vaguely onto the centre of the manifold as a throttle body - perhaps a Holley TB or even a pair of Strombergs with the gubbine cut out...

As I said earlier, this is a long term project. I am just tinkering, really. I might dig the manifold out, mock a few things up and post some pictures, though.

I have had the same evil thoughts and decided to resist no longer with my Stag :D

I must upload some more pictures, my manifold is now finished for my Suzuki GSXR600 motorcycle throttle bodies.
Cheers,
Mike.
