Hello, i have been hunting around for an ecu for my falcon with a twin turbo 302. After some research i came to the conclusion that the EMS was the one for me, then i just read an interesting doco on megasquirt.....http://www.302w.com/Windsor_MegaSquirt_Part6.aspx.

Kinda made me want one. Should i get one or should i go the EMS. The ems will cost me bout $900, so how much will the megasquirt cost?

Also, i think the only thing stopping me getting a MS is the fact i want to keep my ECU and piggy back off it as the EEC v needs to run ohter things. Any help greatly appreciated.

There are a lot of MS setups - it depends on MS1 vs MS2, prebuilt vs a solder it yourself kit. $900 AUD would get you a complete, assembled MegaSquirt-II, and get you about halfway to a good wideband controller as well. A build it yourself kit would be way less.

What all is your EEC-V controlling besides fuel and ignition?

eec is running things like ac, smartlock, trans, body module ect. why is that. $900 gets me an ems?/? how much cheaper is to build?

It's possible to get a MegaSquirt, Stimulator, wiring harness, etc. for as little as $306 USD plus shipping if you are going for a kit setup. If the ECU controls the transmission, you'll definitely want a parallel install. We have an article on that here:

An ems will cost me bout $500.
What are the advantages of megaSQUIRT over ems?

well that just put me off buying a mega squirt. Not allowed to post links to other ecu's. How can i get help comparing to other ones? Oh well, may just have to get the EMS?
