I am new here and am looking to use MS on my Buick Grand National, if you dont know its a 3.8 turbo, MFI, CIS, i was wondering what i would need for Hardware to run? It is very confusing with all the different operating systems/versions out there to pick from and all the add ons. Has anyone on here run this, or could help me out with what i will need to get me up and running?

Thanks in advance, Dan

Converting a 3.8 GN to Mega Squirt will not be a problem as the MS code is defaulted to GM sensors. The only thing you will have to change to a 3 or 4 bar map sensor, because of the turbo.

It's pretty straightforward. The standard MegaSquirt MAP sensor is a 2.5 bar that's good for up to 21 psi of boost; it can be upgraded for more if necessary. This link on GMDIS covers the basics of ignition control; although the C3I ignition has a different crank trigger, the signals to and from the MS are the same: http://www.megamanual.com/ms2/GM_DIS.htm

A regular MS2 system would be fine. For the software, there's now a couple options, but we've mostly been using TunerStudio for our own projects.
