Megasquirt for fuel only on a kia picanto

Post by stabmegane »

Hi,
I own a kia picanto , a small engine 1000cc 4 cylinder 3 valves per cylinder model 2006. I recentrly turbocharged it and mechanically it works great , but i still have problems tuning fuel.
I was thinking of using megasquirt in its simplest form of managing only fuel and leaving ignition to stock ecu.
I 'm searching the whole forum but i can't find enough info. Is there any details on which sensors i have to use and which version of Megasquirt you think it would be better to use? Some people say that i only need rpm signal and othing else. Is it SO simple?? i just need the injector wires and rpm signal? how about idle valve?
Please help me, i feel a little stupid...

(Forgive my english i'm from greece)
thank you in advance

That's about it - you'll need an RPM signal and the MAP sensor built into the MegaSquirt. You will need a few other sensors as well. We have an article on installs that use both the MegaSquirt and the stock ECU here:
