using the stepper iac to control a cooling fan

Hello,

I am running a Volvo 740 using an Ms-II v3.57 board from diy autotune.
I had to put the project on hold and I am picking it back up again. Currently, my idle control is wired for a PWM using the Bosch valve. I have mounted an electric cooling fan and would like to use one of the stepper IAC outputs to control a fan relay. I can't use the f-idle circuit to drive the fan relay. I have read the MS-II spare port config document but I am still a little confused. Is there anyone that can explain how to wire this and what i need to do to use this. Any help appreciated.

Juan

Simply connect IAC1A to terminal 85 of the relay and ground terminal 86. When your IAC1 output is active, the relay will turn on.

Thank you,

I am fairly unfamiliar with the software side of things. Is it pretty straight forward to configure? If not, does anyone have some pointers to get me started in the right direction?

The software side is not too hard to set up - this link goes over how the settings work.
