Wanting to Run megasquirt on an oddball

Hi my name is Will and I have a 1978 Chevrolet Chevette with the original 1.6 Liter 4 cylinder engine in it. The original 1bbl Rochester Monojet is an untuneable pile of mess and would rather take the time to build the right parts to convert from that useless carburetor to somthing that I can play around with on a computer.
The car has a GM 4-pin HEI that I would love to keep, because of the way the HEI works, Its better suited for a 4 Cyl than an 8 Cyl engine.
I plan on fabricating a custom intake plentum for a multi-port style setup.
I also plan to build an exhaust manifold for a turbocharger, although Im not sure what turbo I plan on running.
I do have a little background on how fuel injection works, and I have a friend that suggested that Megasquirt is the way to go. As he runs it on a 4g63 Mitsubishi motor.
I am very careful with engine wiring and everything must be proper colors so that others could work on it if they had to.
What is the right MS box to use for this application?
