Im getting a ford festiva project and its a 1.6l with a turbo out of a 91 mazda 626 and im stuffing it into a 90 for festiva. The ecm didnt come in this project and im looking to use a ms2 on it. Im not sure of any tooth counts for a crank trigger or distributor yet. I have to get the car rolling and home before i will know. Anyone with idea feel free to chime in. Im thinking ms2 on a v3 board but that all i have at the time.

Does this one have a distributor with a vacuum advance, or an optical one with no advance mechanism?

To be honest I just seen everything yesterday and I wont know for sure whats in it until i get everything home. What do i need for each?

Well, if you don't have the optical triggered distributor without an advance mechanism, I recommend you get one. You'll generally want ECU controlled timing on this. An MS2 V3.0 set up for optical distributor input would work great here:

You should be able to control the factory ignition module (at least the one used with the optical distributor) by wiring JS10 to IGN and setting spark output to Going High / Inverted.

Thanks Matt. I got a little to do before i can even start on this project just getting the ducks in a row.
