Distributor signal wire confusion

Post by Bag-O-Chips »

Hi every one, I'm new to the MS game and I have a few questions before I screw somethings up :D The vehicle is a 1989 Mitsubishi Starion

i recently purchased a Pre-assembled MS2 V3.57 pcb unit from DIYauto tune and a Pre-made Harness, As I'm verifying the inputs and out puts I noticed that Pin 2 looking at the back of the DB37 is the sheilding for the Distributor reluctor input, and Pin 24 is the input to from the Distributor labled IGN. Am I seeing things as though this single Gray wire has the shielding already around it or is there a separate wire that i need to lace (twisted pair) around that gray wire?

Any help would be appreciated!
Thank you!

The shield is wired to pin 2 and the center core goes to pin 24. No additional shielding is needed.
