New to MS

Hi there, i have a couple questions about MS systems, i have a 2000 miata and im just trying to figure out what all is needed to get a ms2 system up and running on my car, If i buy the preassemble kit do i just install it and than start driving, does the MS 2 system allow me to control my cel and what not? Ive already spent 2 hours reading and trying to find these answers im lost and confused any help would be greatly appreciated!

MegaSquirt EFI is not for sale or use on pollution controlled vehicles. So there is no CEL function.

If you want one preassembled, you'd need one set up with the hardware needed for your car, unless you wish to modify it yourself. You could use the Check Engine light as a shift light or whatnot - it just won't retain its original function of indicating problems with emissions controls.
