Can the NC MX-5 be run with MS as a standalone?

Hi all. I'm new here, but before you gut me for asking what may be a stupid question, yes, I've searched. Here, other forums, all over Google. There doesn't appear to be any direct information on the use of a Megasquirt (of any kind) with the NC/2006+ MX-5. If I've missed it, and you could point it out to me, I'll readily admit my annoying noobosity.

I'm trying to do something that's probably not the best way to do it in order to stay within SCCA rules. I want to run the MS as near standalone, with limited functions (essentially nothing but OBDII) still functional within the OEM ECU.

Anyway, before I get too deep into that, does anyone know of an NC with a working MS setup, or any information about how to configure/build/etc. MS for use with an NC? Barring that, where would I start looking for the information I'd need to figure it out on my own?

Thanks in advance for any and all help!

That's a tough one. The easiest way to do this is a parallel install so the ECU can run gauges, drive by wire throttle, etc.

If rules allow, you could use an add on crank trigger and run an EDIS ignition with MS2 and Bowling & Grippo code.

MS3 - and possibly MS2/Extra - support the stock NC crank triggers. These are covered on a separate forum at MSExtra.com.
