Megasquirt as an auxillary fuel injector controller

I have a 2011 Ford Flex Ecoboost that I am building up over time. I am currently out of fuel and with the car being direct injection there's no upgrades for the HPFP or DI injectors.
I am looking at upgrading the in tank fuel pump and adding some injectors to the factory intake manifold and I'd like to use the megasquirt to control them as well as my nitrous system on the car.
I was thinking I could tap into the factory sensors for inputs to the megasquirt and I would have a nice controller that would also be able to "autotune". My other option is a splitsecond AIC1 but it's just a rpm vs boost map you create.
Is the megasquirt overkill for my application? I was considering it just because of the autotune functionality and the controller being much more intelligent than anything else out there.
It's too bad there couldn't be a cheaper megasquirt made with just an injector driver portion and add on the nitrous as well but without having to have any ignition control.
Here's a video of my Flex, I am having the stock turbos upgraded and adding a liquid to air intercooler this spring to try and help me get into the 11's solidly.
Let me know your thoughts on what I should use, this is my first time having to look at an aftermarket ECU.
