looking for pointers on my upcoming project

HI, I'm beginning a build on a 2000 dodge neon, and have heard a lot about msefi on my favorite forum (2gn.org). I was wondering exactly what products I should purchase, and what to do as far as a computer to work with the system. I'm looking for a small notebook that I can keep in the car for on-the-fly adjustments. I just don't know what kind of processor or how much RAM it should be running to make the utilization of msefi's software easiest. I'm totally new to DIY electronics... the most I've done is replace a hard drive in my computer... but I'm willing and eager to learn!

First, note that there are two main code forks to MegaSquirt firmware. B&G code is covered here; it would require using a Ford EDIS ignition. The MS/Extra code is covered on MSExtra.com and supports Neon ignition natively.

Just about anything that will run Windows XP or later will be fine.
