Cranking pulse widths?
Cranking usually takes around 8 to 10 seconds before it catches and bursts into life, if however I gently dab the throttle it will burst into life immediatly. My thinking is that dabbing the throttle allows more air in so therefore it needs less fuel while cranking. But then I wondered ...

Re: Settings Explanation...
Lance, what would be the standard settings for Cranking %, Afterstart %, Normal Running % & Check Tach Sync Options?
Many thanks

Settings Explanation...
The other day I wondered exactly what some ignition / tach settings did, so I had a look at the manual but, unless I was being really dumb I was unable to find any details. See attached file... These are the settings I was wondering about:
Next-Pulse Tolerance
Cranking %
Afterstart ...

Re: Torque v BHP - Full power just feels wrong..!
Currently its getting the tach signal from the distributor. To be honest I'm looking into utilising the original sensors and moving timing control accross to MS so I'm gonna guess that would sort the RPM spike...
Many thanks

Re: Torque v BHP - Full power just feels wrong..!
Matt: Yes it did have a little missfire, how would i go about cleaning up the tach signal?
Wasyl: the IAT correction has been set like that because the IAT sensor suffers really badly from heat soak, so if I park up for 15 mins then try to drive away its almost ...

Re: Torque v BHP - Full power just feels wrong..!
Here you go, I did 2 logs first one is full power 1st through to 5th gear. Second log is 3rd gear pull. I think the 3rd gear log probably show the issue the best, boost remains roughly the same but acceleration suddenly increases shortly after 4000 rpm...
If it helps here is a link to the ...

Re: Torque v BHP - Full power just feels wrong..!
As for the logs, what type of thing would be best, a full power run through all the gears??
Many thanks

Torque v BHP - Full power just feels wrong..!
OK to start off with engine is an Audi 5 cylinder 10v turbo lump, running MS2 v3 in fuel only mode. Boost is set to factory spec of +0.6 Bar / 8.5 PSI.
Car start and runs well, it just doesn't pull well in the higher gears. Takes off like a scolded cat in first and second, and will hit ...

Re: Problems setting up Low Z injectors.
Perfect, thankyou very much!
Yeah I'll denote some serious time, reading and investigation to the VE table...
I think I have the accel inrichment about right but it doesm't seem to come in quite quick enough. I always get a lean - rich AFR wobble when dabbing the throttle, normal or can I ...

Re: Problems setting up Low Z injectors.
Thanks for your reply, had an hours play with the card again last night. I spent a few mins bliping the throttle and it reved up fine. I then decided to take it up and down the road a bit. I had to get a bit of the VE table dialed in a bit. Problem I had is that mainly whilst accelerating ...

Re: Problems setting up Low Z injectors.
Oops, I think i missunderstood you there. OK just been out again,
1) started her up & increased PWM% to 30%
2) lowered time threshold and opening time, at 0.9 it started running rough and 0.8 running really rough.
3) Slowly started decreasing PWM%
4) at 17% / 18% made a ...

Re: Problems setting up Low Z injectors.
Went out this evening fired her up and moved the 2 values down to 0.7. 0.8 It started running badly and 0.7 it died. moved the values back up to 1.0 and it started again just fine. moved the 'PWM Current Limit %' up and down but that didnt make any difference...

Problems setting up Low Z injectors.
I may be being really dumb here or I may well have missed something but I'm having a few issues setting up my Siemens 55LB Low Impedience injectors. MS2 V3 Running fuel only at the moment.
The manual states :
PWM Time Threshold = 1.0 millisecond, and
PWM Current Limit (%) = 75% (30% if ...
