You don't need to have an open checkbook with a MegaSquirt system, you will need to be willing to learn a lot about how to DIY tune and build your system (fuel and ignition).

With a multimeter measure the resistance of the injectors and report back.

That is just a alphanumeric display. You have to send specific characters to the display in order for it to work right. You would have to reprogram a MS controller to talk to the device.

There is none. You want MS, you need a foot throttle cable.

Answer is real simple, change tuner not fuel delivery system. It is true that You get equal power on carb and EFI. But EFI gives more more possibilities on fuel mileage, ease of tune etc.
