Post by People16vT »

maybe looks like a odd question but.. can we shield a few signals in the same multi wire shielded cable ? can signals interfer between eachothers? or noise shielded by the shielding is really from an intense noise source?

if it's okay i could run a few signals in the same wire ligthening my harness

Wires carrying analog signals like CTL IAT TPS don't have a tendancy to cross talk. Wires carrying digital or pulsed signals Tach IN, Tach OUT, Injectors have a higher propensity to cause cross talk and should generally be shielded seperately if you are experencing cross talk (noise) problems. The Tach in signal is usually the wire that most people experence noise problems with and is often shielded by itself.

None of my MegaSquirt harness is shielded and I am not having any kind noise issues.
1980 450slc converted to MegaSquirt electronic fuel injection and couldn't be happier! Using the stock dizzy and a MSD 6AL ignition along with the stock Bosch ignition box. Home built fuel rails out of aluminum fuel rail stock. Using 19lb mustang injectors I purchased off of ebay.
