Fuel Filter BEFORE fuel pump??

Post by DaytonaTurbo »

Anyone have a suggestion for a fuel filter I can run before the fuel pump? I'm running an in-line universal hi-pressure walbro 255 pump and don't have provisions for an in-tank fuel sock. My tank is like a fuel cell, a tub with a threaded fitting on the bottom to attach a fuel line to. I don't forsee a lot of crap getting in there but I think it would be a good idea to run a fuel filter before the pump. I don't really know what kinds of fuel filters to look at. Most aftermarket filters are rated in terms of max pressure they can work with, but in my setup they'd be under suction, not pressure...?

Will pretty much any kind of filter work so long as it supports enough flow?

Thanks Lance, that looks like it'll fit the bill nicely. I emailed Holley's tech dept just to make sure this will work correctly.
