Approximate E85 BSFC

What would a approximate BSFC be for E85? I am in the home work faze of an E85 engine build.

My research indicates the rule of thumb is ~1.3 times the BSFC for gasoline.

For example, NA gasoline BSFC typically .4 - .5. For E85, .52 - .65.

on the other hand, you can run more advance on the spark, possibly giving more power... also you can run more compression improving the BSFC again...

So what size Injectors will I need for 590 at the crank compression will be 11:1. boost will be what ever I need for for engine dyno to read 590. Block is being balanced.

If you are trying to figure the injector size you will need, go to the megamanual and look at the ethanol page. There is calculator there.

I used the calculator and got 65lbs sound correct?

I can't find an ethanol page. The only reference to ethanol is in a table of AFRs for different fuels.

As I remember it, I calculated my injector size for a turbocharged engine on gasoline, then multiplied the required fuel times 1.4 for E85.
Sandrail-ACVW 2276 cc, Turbo
MS-II W/spark burning E85
The sand must be punished. :twisted:
