The MegaSquirt Project has experienced explosive growth other the years, with hundreds of new MS installations occurring every week - a phenomenal success! MegaSquirt has been successfully used in all aspects of Internal Combustion engine applications including R&D, Industry, Race, and Research. The MS project has transformed itself from a simple R&D project into a full-featured mature engine control system. To reflect this the support structure has also changed to meet the needs of MegaSquirt Users.
Moving forward, the R&D forums for MegaSquirt project are in a read-only mode - no new forum posts are accepted.
However the forums will remain available for view, they still contain a wealth of information on how MegaSquirt works, how it is installed and used. Feel free to search the forums for information, facts, and overview. While the R&D forum traffic has slowed in recent years, this is not at all a reflection of Megasquirt users, which continue to grow year after year. What has changed is that the method of MegaSquirt support today has rapidly moved to Facebook, this is where the vast majority of interaction is happening now. For those not on Facebook the msextra forums is another place for product support. Finally, for product selection assistance, all of the MegaSquirt vendors are there to help you select a system, along with all of the required pieces to make it complete.

I'm having trouble getting my TPI injected 283 Chevy V8 to fire up. I don't see the engine RPM move (in MT) during cranking. The 'not cranking' box in the lower left screen slowly toggles between 'cranking'. I've read the manual but have not found the right info yet.
I was having the same problem, after much searching I found it to be a wiring issue. The coil was losing power while cranking. Also you might check to see what your cranking speed is set at in MegaTune, if it is set to high you won't get megatune to recognize it to be cranking. Double check that you are getting spark as well.
You wanted to know how I knew that the coil was losing power while cranking. I just hooked my test lite to the 12v in and disconnected the starter so when I turned the key the light would go out. I just had to rewire the 12v wire to a hot while cranking circut.
weird i'm guessing you have already checked the settings in megatune maybe your cable to the megasquirt has a bad connection ran into that on a friends car with the tps wiring bad joint on the db37 plug maybe you could see if the hei will fire a coil itself to be sure it works too. Zane
