91 vw gti no tach plz help

So i have a 91 vw gti with a 20v swap and megasquirt running gm dual tower coils and i cant seem to find any info on geting the tach to function...

Do you have a 60-2 crank wheel?

its a stock 1.8t crank trigger i think that sounds right

You might be able to use an off the shelf tach adapter. Or you could add a tach output to the MS - what code version do you have?

i dont remember what version it is ill have to check again and i do have a tach output set up but im having a problem finding what resistor to use to get it working correctly. right now i can connect an aftermarket tach and it will work.

cant seem to find much info on this and its really annoying not having a tach.
