All three led's solid on

Post by chevyguy_56 »

Well I have been running the ms2 in the car fuel only and it seemed to work fine. Then I decided to connect the ignition control. Tried to start the car with my computer connected and mega tune running. The car didn't start but megatune frozeup, all three led's came and after restarting megatune I could no longer connect to megasquirt. I removed the unit and connected the mega stim the pmp and idl led's come on the stim and the thee led's on the ms stay solid. I tried to jumper and reload the daughter card but can not connect and all the led's stay on. I removed the daughter board I get 5v between pins 19 and 20, I also jumpered 12 and 13 and pass the loopback. Do I need a new daughter card?

Please post a copy of the error message you get when you try loading the code.

Ok. Are you using a direct serial connection or USB adapter?

Some USB adapters seem to have trouble loading code. Could you try using a desktop with a built in serial port?

Hi guys. Sorry to hijack the thread but I've hit the same problem using a serial connector. MS has been working fine but I changed my toothed wheel setting to 0 so I could use my stim and now have the condition described above. I'm using code 2.89, MS2 v3.

Problem solved. I worked my way through the troubleshooting section, everything checked out and then when I put the daughterboard back in and tried to flash it connected and worked wonderfully. Beats me, but I'm happy. Good luck Chevyguy. By the way, I got lots of comm errors using a USB to serial adaptor, and things are generally much more stable now I've got a proper serial cable.
