MegaStim basic Question

Hi there !
I am completely new to Megasquirt , have no clue about electronics but got me MS-II and started reading the forum up and down to get an idea how to start.
Still, there is a question about the use of the MegaStim and althou it might appear pretty dump I am asking since I am concerned I might burn up something:
Starting to use the MegaStim is: connecting it to the MS-II, connecting the MS-II to my laptop, start Megatune and install the 9V-Battery on the Stim. And than turn the knobs on the stim to chance the inputs. I should be able to follow the changing inputs through
Megatune. Is this correct ???????
