simple question

Post by ericoneal »

I have an aircooled Porsche and the previous owner installed Megasquirt II. I am now having the engine rebuilt (possibly with bigger cylinders). Will I need to retune or will it "just work" when hooked back up? I ask because I have never tuned the Megasquirt system before and its always worked flawlessly, so I am hoping it will continue to work or I will need a crash course in tuning.

If you alter the engine in any way, it's likely it will need some fine tuning. If you are altering the cubic capacity, re-calculating the required fuel setting should get it very close.
