fue injector flow setting

For discussing Phil Tobin's TunerStudio MS is the MegaSquirt edition of TunerStudio, a next generation tuning application. It provides the ability to configure and tune all MegaSquirt controllers and is 100% compatible with MegaTune ini files and msq's.

fue injector flow setting

Post by skip406 »

I was wondering if there was a conversion chart to go from cc per min to grams per second. I need enter my injector flow in the general settings and if i am reading it right it is in grams per second.

There are several calculators available online that will do the conversion for you.

Tuner Studio here allows you to enter either when calculating required fuel.

The simple math is
lb/hr * 10.5

skip406,

Yes, you enter grams per second. For a calculator, look in the manual here: http://www.megamanual.com/mt29.htm#sg

Phil,

Yes, I think this one trips a lot of people up. I don't know how often we've been asked if it is gallons per second. I did talk to Al Grippo about this, and it was decided to leave it as gram per second (rather than put the conversion in the INI) because this particular parameter is part of the move to model-based code (i.e. predictive algorithms for the fuel injection, rather than the purely reactive ones used previously) and all the literature for model based theory refers to gram per second.

I'm a bit more confused why people don't check the manual, though, as pressing F1 while on that menu take one directly to the converter (assuming one has an active internet connection). Perhaps we out to bundle the help file with the INI, and have TS look at that if there is no active internet connection?

TS 2.6 supports linking into pdf files. You can place a download location in the ini file:

Code: Select all

   helpManualDownloadRoot = "http://www.msefi.com/doc/pdf/"
Then do the help links like this:

Code: Select all

      dialog = dialogName, "Dialog Title"
         topicHelp = "file://$getProjectsDirPath()/docs/MS2_Help_Version_2.910.pdf#yourAnchor"
The 1st time a user clicks on help, TS will download the pdf from the helpManualDownloadRoot and store it local. So in the future is will be on the local drive.

Phil,

Does that work in addition to, or instead of, the web link? That is, can I put both in? The reason I don't want to do .pdf only is that these won't necessarily be up to date, while the website is.

You can add 2 topicHelp entries, one for the pdf, one for the web link. The trouble is the menu won't differentiate, there will be 2 redundant help links where one will open the pdf, the other will open the web link.

I could add a prefix to the web one so you can tell which goes to the web and which opens the pdf.
