chevy 4.3 with holley projection

Post by echas9 »

Need help. Currently have a chevy 4.3 v6 with HEI igniton and holley projection. Just can not get it to run properly holley says not compatable with a v6. is their a way to trick computer to think its a v8 or what new computer can i go to drive holley throttle body i already have o2 sensor installed. if slowly accelerating engine falls flat and back fires at 2200 rpm range. If accelerate hard past it engine will rev to 5k. rich lean shows engine goes way lean at time of backfiring. thinking has to do with the trim and switch over points of fuel map. and to top of problem have a trip planned in a week and a half need to resolve asap. Thank you for help.

Just about anything in the MegaSquirt lineup has been used with the Pro-Jection throttle bodies. Biggest question: How many wires are on the idle control valve on this one? Holley used a couple different styles over the years.

The Holley ECU may not know what to do with a V6, but the MS has no such issues.

Not sure what you mean by "switch over points of fuel map."

I'm not sure I understand.........

You are still running on the Pro-Jection ecu? I am not even a little bit surprised that the Holley will not work with a V6......
what new computer can i go to drive holley throttle body
Why, a shiny new MS of course!

The early Pro-Jections used a pretty crude tuning method where you had one adjustment knob for a high RPM range and one for low RPM, and a couple others. You couldn't change the RPM point where one knob stopped and the other began.
