Yamaha injectors and sensors

Post by sceptre511 »

I intend to use a mega squirt system on my Mk1 Humber Sceptre with its Cavalier Sri engine and run it on Yamaha CBR900 throttle bodies.Does any one out there know if the injectors will flow enough fuel for a 2.0 engine bearing in mind the bike engine revs twice as much as my car will.
Also, will any of the Yamaha sensors be any good,TPS,air temp,MAP .Is there a resistance i can measure to check ?
Thanks in advance to any of you helpfull people out there :D

Hi,

I have got a couple of sets of CBR929 tbs to go on a Rover V8, and I believe that on the bike each set was good for 150BHP. What sort of power are you expecting from the Cav lump ?

MS has it's own MAP sensor, and you should be able to use Easytherm to calibrate for the air temp sensor. The TPS looks to be a 3 wire pot, so should work fine.

If I get a chance to measure mine, I will let you know :-)

Hi,

I am not sure if you will be able to squeeze that many horses through the 900 throttle bodies, may be worth posting a question in the > Injectors, Fuel & Air Supply section ?

Sounds like the car should be quite entertaining , if not historically accurate :)

PPC mag have done a bit on 2 of my cars, 6 pages on 'Doris' the yellow clubman and 1 page on the 'Pievan', which is er a Mini van..

Scans of these and other mag mentions live at www.v8mini.co.uk/gallery/scrap
