tach signal

Post by wildwestsydney »

Hi I have three wires going to a electromechanical tach positive constant power, ground, and third wire i can not put a meter on it when it is running because it is not in running condition. My question is this third wire is what MS will use for the tach signal? I hope i am not being too vague. Any help would be great. I hope to try and start it up for the first time on MS within a week.

What type of tach/car?

By "MS Use" Do you mean MS provide Tach signal to tachometer, or the other way around?

What type MS/rev/code/etc.

What type of ignition are you attempting to use?

I thought I might have been vague sorry. This is the handle bar mounted tach on a 350 cc dual sport motorcycle. I am using MS-1 ver 2.2 to control fuel only. I assume I will wire that third wire to the correct db 37 pin for tach / coil input. The motorcycle has a CDI ignition wich I thought i read in the manual the signal going to the coil has too much voltage for MS. I hope this makes my question more clear.
