Switched 12v supply for relay board

Post by Dec »

Attempting to get a decent 12v switched supply for the relay board.

I've read in a few places that a few people have used +12v from the ign coil as a switched supply? Is this possible? As for wiring purposes it would be very handy for me!

Dec,

Yes, you can use the positive terminal of the coil as a switched supply - I have been running this way for years. The switched supply for the relay board is only used to close a relay, and only draws a few hundred milliAmps at most.

Thanks for the quick replies guys! :)

I'll use that as a point to start off anyway, and see how it goes!
