Off throttle surge...

Post by Racinndrummin »

91 Mustang 5.0

I am getting most of the VE map tuned pretty well, but I am having trouble with the idle.

The car has a TFS-1 cam (221/225@.050 112 lobe sep retarded 4*). It wants to idle the best at about 56kpa at 900RPM with no surge at all, but if I rev it and let off real fast, it wants to surge, and then corrects itself. Same thing happens when Im driving and push the clutch in or come to a stop. I have tried richening it up and leaning it out and it still seems to do it either way, is there a setting I missed or something in the Accel/Decel area?

What is your timing doing? I noticed on My El-comino that leaving the timing curve flat at and near idle made it much more steady.
