MAP sensor vacuum source questions....

Post by 1950ChevySuburban »

Hey all! I've got an interesting setup which currently runs fairly well, yet still dialing it in.

It's a 250 Chevy straight six, with 3 throttle bodies, individually feeding the 3 siamesed cylinders. I've got 3/8 fuel line between each t-body to try to make a more even vacuum reading to the MAP sensor. MAP is slightly jumpy at idle, around 55-60 or so.

The PCV also pulls off this source, as it's my only vacuum source available. So does the regulator.
On top of all this, I'm looking at adding power brakes, which might help or hinder the vac signal.

Any ideas to this? Am I ok, or needing to change things? Thanks in advance!

You might have to rig up a vacuum reservoir to store the vacuum for power brakes. I know some muscle cars with radical cams used this set up. You could also connect the map sensor to the reservoir to smooth out the idle.
